In the research group "Experimental Solid State Physics" we investigate the physics of so-called quantum materials.
Such materials are characterised by ground states and solid-state excitations that result in remarkable properties shaped by quantum effects. Important examples are unconventional superconductors, quantum magnets and topological materials.
In our experiments we try to explore and understand the special properties of quantum materials mainly by means of transport experiments and scanning tunneling spectroscopy.
